And here it is, a recollection of the massive 12 day City2Snow tour operated by The Working Holiday Club!

Los Angeles

After a long 12 hour flight, I finally landed at LAX! Extremely tired and jet lagged by 7am LA time, I was still determined to do some exploring before the City2Snow tour kicked off the following day.
I arrived at the Samesun Hostel in Venice beach still in the early hours of the morning, dropped my bags off and took a stroll down the beautiful beaches of Venice. The beach reminded me of something in between the Gold Coast and Byron Bay. The temperature was very similar to back in Brisbane… Hot! By the late afternoon, I had met a few others on the tour and jet lag had definitely hit since I had been awake for around 24 hours. I grabbed a meal at the local store near the hostel and prepared for an early night.

The next afternoon (after the biggest sleep in ever!) the City2Snow crew met at the bar downstairs and this is where the 12 day bender starts. After a few drinks and meeting some of the new crew, it was time to get ready for the first night out, a rooftop party at the Standard in downtown LA. The next day was spent doing a tour of Hollywood, checking out some famous sites before heading down to Santa Monica Pier for a late lunch at the Bubba Gump restaurant. It was really cool and exciting to meet so many people that were all heading up to Canada for the winter season! When the sun set, it was time for party night number 2 (of many more to come), a club hop in a 40 seater limo.

Las Vegas

The next stop of the tour was definitely one of the highlights of the trip…. Vegas! The first night was spent partying in a suite in Planet Hollywood, with amazing views if the strip and the famous fountains performances outside the Bellagio. Lets just say that this was a night to remember, they say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?! However, the next day was no time to sleep in and recover, it was time to kick on at one of the famous Vegas pool parties… Wet Republic at the MGM. Despite is crazily overpriced but super strong mixed drinks, it was definitely worth the money. This was the best way to cure a hangover! On our last night in Vegas, we did some obligatory Vegas activities, gambling (not that I knew what I was doing AT ALL…), watching a show, Circ de Solei, one of the most amazing things I have seen, and enjoying a Buffet dinner!

San Francisco

And now to one of my favourite cities in the world, San Francisco! My first day was spent taking a walk to the famous Pier 39, eating some clam chowder, watching sea lions and climbing up massive hills to absorb the magnificent views San Fran has to offer. The night was then filled with more drinking activities (duh!).

Day 2 of San Fran, our tour ventured to a park that housed a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge. This was accompanied with an all american BBQ (nothing like the ones back in AUS!) with ribs, chicken wings and steaks. We played a bit of football (American of course) and then headed back to the hostel. On my last night in the bay, I enjoyed dinner with an old family friend and then kicked on to join the crew on a pub crawl…

Eugene and Seattle

Eugene, I enjoyed a nice mellow night with my fellow tour members and took advantage of an early night with a massive double hotel bed!
The next stop in Seattle however was definitely a highlight! We saw an amazing show featuring Rufus and Hermitude! I also got to shoot my first real live gun! (Amurica, fuck yeah!)

Last stop… VanCity

And finally to the final stop of the the tour… Vancouver. After checking into the Samesun Hostel, it was time to settle in and enjoy my next week here. During this week, I said goodbye to many of my fellow tour members as we all went our separate ways to our different ski resorts!

It was really nice in Vancouver to just chill and recover from the 2 weeks of partying! Unfortunately I didn't get much blogging done, but I did take many photos. I attended a Vancouver Canucks game, visited the really beautiful Gastown and watched the seasons transition from Fall to Winter!
