It's official! I have finally settled into my new home (well for the next 6 months at least!).

Here is a list of things I have learnt about moving out (and things I miss about home..):
  • cleaning up my own mess (well mum isn't going to do it for me!)
  • doing dishes straight away
  • do laundry once a week - it's really not cool to have to wear the same smelly snowboard socks again!
  • we have a tiny kitchen with a tiny fridge and no pantry... so
  • don't buy too much food at the supermarket (there will be no place to put it!)
  • don't leave snowboard boots in my room (they WILL stink out the room!)
  • staggering kitchen time in the morning with my housemates
  • making lunches is a great way to save money!
  • Netflix is well worth it!
  • I can have dinner whenever I want, whatever I want
  • Don't forget your house keys!

I am in building 7 at Glacier Staff housing up on Blackcomb Mountain. Before I arrived, I heard this place was called the glacier ghetto, but it really isn't that bad. There is partying every night in staff housing but everyone tends to go out into the village around 10pm anyway! If you're a socialite and love the party scene, this is the place for you!

In terms of living arrangements I am fortunate enough to be sharing with 3 other girls, coincidentally all from Brisbane and we are all 23yrs old! We have a very small 3 bedroom apartment that is super cosy. I am even lucky enough to have my own room (however I do pay the price!)
